Attorney Bio
Michael was born and raised in Richmond. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy and graduated in the top 25% of his class with a degree in Chemistry. He obtained a Master of Arts Degree with Distinction in 1989 from the Naval Postgraduate School. He served 10 years as a nuclear engineer on 3 fleet submarines. After his time in the Navy, he worked for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency while attending George Mason Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude in December of 1996.
After a clerkship with a federal magistrate in Norfolk, Michael began practicing law – a journey which has taken him from Hampton Roads 1997-2007, to the Northern Neck of Virginia from 2007 to 2013, and finally back to Richmond in 2013. In his almost-30 years of practice, Michael has litigated, at both the trial and appellate level, all manners of domestic cases, including custody/visitation, cases, support cases, and complex equitable distribution cases. His focus is on working towards the goals of his clients during perhaps the most trying times they will experience: litigating a divorce.
