Attorney Bio
Jae Chang joined Melone Hatley, P.C. in 2024. He is committed to representing clients with compassion and dedication, ensuring a thorough understanding of their needs during difficult times.
Prior to joining Melone Hatley, P.C., Jae served as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for Loudoun County, Virginia. In this role, he prosecuted a wide range of misdemeanor and felony cases, including DUI, reckless driving, assault and battery, larceny, and drug offenses. He also handled bond motions, probation violation hearings, and restitution matters, gaining extensive courtroom experience.
Jae’s knowledge in various areas of law, including criminal law, family law, contracts, and immigration law, enables him to understand clients’ needs comprehensively and represent them effectively.
Jae grew up in Fairfax County, Virginia. He earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and his Juris Doctor degree from Widener Law School in Delaware.
Outside of his professional life, Jae is a devoted husband and father of two. He is an active member of the Korean Central Presbyterian Church in Centreville, Virginia, where he contributes to his community.
