Attorney Bio
Laura Camden joined Melone Hatley, P.C. in 2023 as a Litigation Attorney in the Richmond office. Laura has always been enthusiastic about helping families navigate the complexities of the legal system and she is eager to be a part of a firm that continuously strives for justice through superior legal advocacy.
Originally from Richmond, Virginia, Laura graduated from James Madison University with her bachelor’s degree in social work. She continued her love of learning and for the profession of Social Work at the University of Maryland, obtaining her master’s degree in clinical social work, specializing in Families and Children. While studying at the University of Maryland, Laura worked as a Mitigation Specialist and Forensic Social Worker at Baltimore City’s Office of The Public Defender. Prior to earning her Juris Doctor at Regent University, Laura served as the Assistant Director of the Victim Witness Program at the Hanover County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.
Laura’s earlier legal experience was in Personal Injury Litigation. She is experienced in overseeing a caseload of over 100+, in both pre-litigation preparation and those cases going to Litigation. Laura has a huge passion for what she does and enjoys the camaraderie with fellow attorneys. She loves her clients, and working closely with them is second to none.
Outside of work, Laura loves spending time with her family. She loves getting outside with her husband and two dogs or visiting her two sisters and parents every chance that she gets. Whether it is playing tennis, going out on the boat, or taking in the fresh air, Laura is happy to just kick back and enjoy the moment.
